Aurora Awards - Call For Eligible Works

Do you know of someone from Western Canada who did something artistically great in the realm of Sci-Fi or Fantasy in 2013? Well, if you do, we want to ensure they get nominated for an Aurora Award! Western Canada is short on representation compared to our friends out east. Let's change this by getting involved! The deadline for nominations is VERY SOON - 11:59:59 PM EDT ( 8:59:59 PM PDT ) on Sat, Apr 12 - so we all need to act fast!

2013 Aurora Award Winners

This year’s Aurora award winner for Best English Novel went to The Silvered by Tanya Huff published by DAW books.  This is her first win in this category.  In 1998 she won an Aurora for her short story, “And Who is Joah”.  Ms. Huff is well known for her Blood Books series which were made into a TV series.  Along with the trophy, Ms. Huff was presented with a cheque for $1000 from SFCanada, Canada Science Fiction and Fantasy writers association.

A mighty congratulations to two of our upcoming Guests of Honour! Dan Wells just won a Hugo Award and Mur Lafferty a Campbell! Way to go, guys! VCON 38 is going to be one hell of a party!
